Hello my name is Crystal, I’m 30 years old and I’m currently on the journey to earning my teaching credential and working as a substitute teacher. I received my B.A. in Child Development and Family Studies at CSULB in 2018. I started babysitting at 15 years old, from babysitting my younger sibling and cousins to volunteering at after school programs throughout my high school years, where I had the opportunity to work with elementary aged school kids in helping them complete their homework and tutoring them by giving them the study skills that they need to succeed. After high school I started working at an after school program as a program leader where I led a class of about 20 children. Some of those duties included planning fun activities, ensuring safety of all children in the program, serving after school snack, Interacting with children and their families, working independently as well as with a team, and creating an enriching, fun, and safe environment. I also worked a part time job tutoring elementary school aged children before moving on to working a full time job as a preschool teacher. While working as a preschool teacher, I had the opportunity to babysit my own preschool kids whenever their parents needed a sitter for date nights or an extra hand. When covid hit, I started full time babysitting two of my preschool kids who were twins up until this year as they were able to fully return to preschool. Since then I’ve been focusing on school and babysitting on occasion. I’m currently looking for a part-time summer position. I’ve loved working with kids ever since I was a kid, I loved playing teacher and having my younger siblings and cousins play as my students. I love that I’m able to be a part of children’s learning, I love putting a smile on their face and ensuring that they have a fun, healthy and educational time together! I look forward to providing care for your children and ensuring that they enjoy their time with me! :)
